Kate Middleton Sparkles in Gown for King Charles’ 75th Birthday Party
Kate Middleton knows how to dress to impress. The Princess of Wales sparkled in a sequin gown and diamond earrings to celebrate her father-in-law King Charles III’s 75th birthday festivities on Tuesday evening.
The princess wore a deep green long-sleeved gown by Needle & Thread, spangled with dramatic sequins. The Aurelia dress, as it is called, retails on the company’s site for $769. She wore a similar red dress from the brand, the Aurora, to the January 2020 UK-Africa Investment Summit Reception, as well as for 2022’s Royal Carols: Together at Christmas festivities.
Kate and husband Prince William were spotted driving up to the king’s private birthday party, with William wearing a white shirt and dark jacket.
The king rang in the milestone birthday with public appearances at his new food bank initiative, and enjoyed a 21-gun salute. He was the guest of honor at an early birthday party Monday at Highgrove with tea and cake, while Tuesday’s celebration was expected to be more intimate and private.
On Wednesday, Kate traded in her glittering ensemble for a sensible purple suit at an event for her Shaping Us childhood initiative. She paired the vibrant purple pants and blazer, designed by Emilia Wickstead, with navy pointy-toed heels and diamond and sapphire earrings that once belonged to her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana.
